What we keep

Your account
Your email, your callsign, and your birthday. The email is only for signing in and getting back in. The birthday only checks that you're 16 or over, and is never shown to anybody. Your password is stored as a one-way hash we can't read.
How you play
The game sends us what happens while you play, so we can fix what's broken and make it more fun:
- each run: the map and mode, how far you got, how long it lasted, how it ended, the guns you used and how well, what you bought, upgraded and picked, what put you down, and where you went on the map;
- the menu screens you open, settings you change, and tutorial steps you reach;
- your device type, operating system, browser, screen size, graphics card, frame rate, and any errors the game hits.
Signed in, this is linked to your account. Signed out, it's linked to a random id stored in your browser, not to you.
Visits and loading
We record arrivals, loading milestones and failures, whether you start playing, and the last stage we hear from. We measure time with the page visible and time within a minute of a game input. We count game inputs without recording typed text or form values.
To understand which posts and game listings bring players, we keep the referring site's hostname and public source, campaign and post labels included in game links. We don't keep the full referring address or unrelated link parameters in this telemetry. Missing referrers stay unknown.
We also keep browser language and time zone for audience summaries. These settings don't establish your location or nationality. We don't infer age or gender from visits or use outside demographic services.
Multiplayer
The game server records the rooms you join and leave, and how each match went. Every chat message is kept as you typed it, so we can deal with abuse. Voice chat is passed between players live and is never recorded. The game's team can watch multiplayer matches as they happen, to spot problems and check on behaviour.
What we don't do
We don't sell any of it, show ads, or use outside analytics or tracking companies. It stays on our own servers.
Deleting it
Deleting your profile (on the game's PROFILE screen) deletes your account and your chat messages, and unlinks everything else from you. You can also email support@playhollowcounty.com with any question about your data.
